PORTABLE SAWMILL
Once your tree work has been done, or you have selected the logs on your property that will make the best lumber, it's time to reach out to us! We will walk you through the process, from staging the logs in the correct position and location, to stacking and drying.
Air drying lumber can take a very long time, sometimes over 2 years depending on how thick your boards are, and which species of wood. Read more below about how we can speed that process up and deliver a kiln dried product to you, after milling boards from your very own logs!
KILN DRYING
Unless you are a wood turner looking for air-dried turning blanks, it will benefit you in many ways to have your lumber dried in our kiln. The general rule of thumb for air drying hardwoods is that it takes about 1 year per inch of thickness to dry your boards. This means that 1" thick boards can take up to 1 year, 2" boards up to 2 years and so on. Using our highly effective dehumidification kiln, we are able to cut that time down to about 1" per month. This is a drastic change, and much faster turn around time! We dry all wood to 8-12% moisture content which will result in more stable and dry lumber.

Other benefits include our sterilization process. To ensure that there are no insects, or larvae in your wood, we cycle our kiln to incredibly high temperatures (over 140 degrees) to sterilize your lumber. This will give you peace of mind knowing that you will not be introducing any bugs into your home.

Kiln drying your lumber makes sense for most people who want their wood ready to use, sooner rather than later. We're happy to also offer pick up and delivery of your material to make it a stress free process for you.

Even after drying, we can also flatten and plane all your wood! This gives you a smooth and flat final product ready for sanding and finishing.
